Who is Cumberland Valley Church?

We are a collection of Christians from many religious backgrounds who are committed to following Jesus Christ in heartfelt devotion and service. What makes us distinct? Here are several things that mean a lot to us:

• A committed, wholehearted love-relationship with Jesus Christ, trusting in him as Lord, Savior, Teacher and all who he is for us, to the glory of God.
• A Sunday worship gathering that stimulates our minds and stirs our hearts toward God's mind and heart. We desire an increasing love and knowledge of him, an increasing transformation of our lives to Jesus', and an increasing love for one another and the world.
• Relationships that are characterized by love, unity, accountability and peace, all for the purpose of being the kind of people God envisions for us to be.
• A commitment to nurture and support marriages, parents and youth in their spiritual and relational lives.
• A commitment to make a difference in our world, and to share the love and truth of Jesus with people who need him - for both their earthly and eternal joy.

Who Are the Brethren in Christ?

The Brethren in Christ began over 200 years ago as a group of people who believed that God was calling them to make a radical break from the world and from the religious establishment of their day. They wanted to live as "people of the Book", loving Christ with their hearts (not just their minds), and living out the realities of what they saw in the early church. Specifically, the B.I.C. are committed to following Jesus wholeheartedly, not conforming to the values of the world, living out relational community as the people of God, loving one another, and promoting peace. Today there are over 260 congregations in the U.S., and another 350 worldwide.
